Happy Blogoversary To Us!

Welcome back, we're glad you're here!

Yes Celtophiles, Mike and I have been cluttering up your internet here at Celtophilia for an entire year as of today. Sure, we deserted you a time or two when we ran off to the beach, or my computer rebelled, or Mike got attacked by his household appliances, but ya’ll have always been on our minds.

The site has evolved a little along the way, we’ve gotten to know some awesome musicians and readers, and we’ve been privileged to listen to some of the best music on the planet, and even more privileged to be able to share it here. We want to thank each and every one of you for visiting, hanging out, and reading, we are so grateful for your participation and support.

In the coming year we are excited to share more album reviews, more band interviews, and more Celtic Music Deathmatches. We will definitely be revisiting the Limerick Contest, and we may have some new contests as well. Be assured that our love for Celtic music only gets stronger with every post we write and every new band we are lucky enough to discover. We want your feedback too! Is there a band we’ve neglected so far that we absolutely have to check out? Have a Celtic music topic that we should be writing about? Talk to us in the comments or send one of us an e-mail. (I’m way prettier and nicer than Mike. So write me. Ahem.)

Thanks ya’ll for an amazing first year, and here’s to another one!

Go mbeire muid beo ar an am seo aris! - “May we be alive at this time next year.”*

*And if we aren’t alive, may we be zombies!

**For this historical and Very Important Post, I figured I would clear up a common misconception. Mike and I are not “together.” Well, very often we are together out there in the meat world, but not like that. Mike is married to my sister Julie, and is the best big brother a girl could hope for. If you like being called a punk, a gooftrooper, and a dillweed, being shot incessantly with nerf darts, and having imaginary snowballs thrown at you, which as it happens, I do.

Slainte,
Bonnie

Mike’s Note: I had all kinds of witty and clever things I thought I wanted to say, but I just got back from hiking 6 hours / 10 miles on the Appalachian Trail, and I can barely bring myself to type this before I fall over from exhaustion. I will return Bonnie’s lovely compliment and say that she is everything I ever wanted in a little sister, but don’t tell her I said it. Now, off to collapse somewhere. Oh, and I’m prettier.
