Poitín goes goth metal
Welcome back, we're glad you're here!
Jeremy, singer and bodhran thumper extraordinaire for everybody’s favorite band from Plzen, Czech Republic, gave me a quick update on the next Poitín CD this morning. The recording studio they’re using is owned by a goth metal musician, and has inspired a little playing around in the studio. This track is NOT slated to be on the new CD, but is definitely worth sharing. Starts off nice and smooth, but don’t let that fool you. Some serious noise happens before the whole thing winds down.
Fiddle, whistles and bodhran by Poitin, the rest by Pavel Cengery of Mortal Destiny, lyrics by Jeremy.
Jeremy also sent me a new photo of the band, and Bonnie will be thrilled to find out that the little wooden guy down front who is having to cover himself because he wasn’t provided with any clothes is the didge player. I’ve kind of always assumed that didge players were naked.
If you like the song, head over to Soundclick and grab the free download. If you’re not a member, you’ll have to go through the signup process, but it takes all of 2 minutes, and there is a ton of music to be found on the site. Definitely worth it.
Slainte,
Mike
